Jake Lang, a far-right influencer pardoned by President Trump after his indictment in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot, was arrested Tuesday in Dallas on a state felony charge of making a terroristic threat.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said the 31-year-old was taken into custody after arriving on a flight and booked into the Dallas County Jail.

The charge stems from Lang's presence outside the Collin County courthouse during the murder trial of Karmelo Anthony. A jury convicted Anthony on Tuesday of murder in the April 2025 stabbing death of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf at a track meet in Frisco and sentenced him to 35 years in prison.

Anthony's family told CBS News that Lang had threatened to shoot Anthony in the head if the jury did not convict him. In a video posted to his X account, a man identifying himself as Lang said he had been arrested for saying that if Anthony was not found guilty, "we the people will deal with justice."

Lang posted on social media that his bail was set at $1 million. CBS News has not reached his legal representation for comment.

Lang was arrested last week in Frisco on a trespassing charge. In March he was arrested in St. Paul, Minnesota, on allegations he vandalized a sculpture at the state Capitol. His trial in that case is set for next month.

Lang was indicted in 2021 on 11 federal counts, including assault on an officer, but was pardoned by President Trump along with other Jan. 6 defendants.

Andrew Anthony, Karmelo Anthony's father, said he felt "somewhat relieved" by the arrest but noted the family still faces a long legal process. The family has continued to receive racially charged death threats after the verdict. Karmelo Anthony's relatives have said he acted in self-defense, though he did not testify.

The case drew daily protests at the courthouse. Lang had organized a protest supporting Metcalf that used a flyer showing Metcalf with the banner "Protect White Americans." Metcalf's father, Jeff Metcalf, has urged the public not to politicize the death and said he forgives Anthony.
