Hot Dog Vendors Fight Over Spot in West Hollywood
A turf war among hot dog cart vendors in West Hollywood spilled into a public fight early Sunday morning.
Two women selling wieners from carts clashed on the sidewalk after a dispute over a prime location, according to KTLA. The confrontation happened in front of businesses where vendors set up every weekend.
Larry Block, a local business owner, said the vendors have grown more aggressive. He described the incident as starting when a person tried to push a vendor out of the way in front of Beaches Tropicana, and then they went at it.
Business owners face problems when they ask vendors to move. They get dragged into the turf war and threatened. Block said not enough is being done to control the vendors.
He added that the carts are killing the trees and pouring grease on the street.
