A Florida man wearing a bunny helmet led Florida Highway Patrol troopers on a high-speed chase Sunday night, reaching speeds of 120 mph while trying to evade them.

The pursuit began just after 11 p.m. along U.S. Highway 19 near Jessup Lane in Pasco County. Troopers spotted a motorcyclist moving fast and weaving through traffic with his license plate flipped up, according to FOX 35.

When the rider failed to stop for a traffic stop, officers gave chase. The driver, identified as 29-year-old Dalton Hubbert, hit speeds up to 120 mph and ran red lights during the dangerous pursuit, FOX 35 reported.

Hubbert pulled over shortly before 11:30 p.m. on Commercial Way in North Weeki Wachee and surrendered. Photos from the Florida Highway Patrol show him in custody still wearing the fuzzy white bunny helmet.

Authorities took Hubbert back to Pasco County, where he faces charges of reckless driving, felony fleeing and eluding law enforcement, driving more than 50 mph over the speed limit, and use or display of a weapon during the commission of a felony, FOX 35 said.

The Florida Highway Patrol did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
