FBI Raids Office of Virginia Sen. Louise Lucas in Corruption and Marijuana Probe

The FBI raided the office of Virginia state Sen. L. Louise Lucas and a nearby cannabis dispensary she co-owns as part of a federal probe into corruption and illegal marijuana sales, sources told Fox News.

Lucas, a longtime Democratic lawmaker and major power broker in Virginia politics, campaigned for gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger in 2025. Agents executed court-authorized search warrants at her Portsmouth office on Wednesday, the sources said. The FBI also searched the dispensary at the same time.

The senator arrived at her office during the raids. She told Fox News she had no idea what the agents were doing there.

The action adds political pressure on Spanberger, a former congresswoman running for governor who faces falling poll numbers. Critics accuse her of pushing a far-left agenda in the once-purple state.

A federal judge approved the warrants after finding probable cause.

Lucas has faced prior scrutiny over her Portsmouth cannabis shop. An investigation reported that some products were mislabeled or exceeded legal THC limits under Virginia law.

She maintains a lively social media presence with crude language and memes.
