Eric Trump Recalls Father's Optimism After Felony Conviction in New York
Eric Trump recounted a conversation with his father, President Donald Trump, immediately after the 34-count felony conviction in New York. He called it the lowest moment that also brought hope for the future.
"We were driving out of the court. My father had just been convicted... and the two of us are in the car together," Trump said on the latest episode of the "Hang Out with Sean Hannity" podcast.
"And he looked at me, and he goes, 'Honey, I don't know how, but somehow we're going to win, and somehow we're going to win this all.'"
Trump said his father meant not only the court case but also winning back the White House and the entire election.
Eric Trump and his wife, Fox News host Lara Trump, appeared on Thursday's episode of the podcast. They discussed the 2024 case over alleged hush money payments to Stormy Daniels.
Trump had pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree. The charges came from a yearslong investigation by the Manhattan District Attorney's Office.
A jury found him guilty on all counts after a six-week trial in New York City.
The former and current president pressed on with his bid for a second term after four years under the Biden administration.
"He came from such a place of positivity in such an unbelievably low moment," Eric Trump told Hannity.
"I'll never forget that as long as I live."
