Yankees' Jazz Chisholm Jr. skips cup after foul ball to groin
New York Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. left a game after fouling a pitch into his groin.
Yankees beat writer Gary Philips reported that Chisholm said the pain was a "million" and added, "If you ever got hit in the testicles, you would know."
Chisholm said he has never worn a cup. He noted that cups are required in the minor leagues, but he skipped them there and plans to keep skipping them.
"I've never been hit in the balls," he said. "That was just unlucky."
Chisholm said he trusts his own defensive skills to protect himself.
